The Sweeney 2-Stoppo Driver/Poppy

A Sweeney double bill both episodes first transmitted in 1975(hence the criminally wide flaired trousers on display)

Noir #1-Conflict

Playing L.A Noire put me in the mood to feature a series of posts all about Film Noir and Neo Noir movies so where better to start with this film featuring Bogart in one of his darkest roles.

The Sweeney 1- Country Boy

Subject of a forthcoming movie starring Ray Wistone as Jack Regan (not sure how that's going to work seeing as John Thaw was in his mid 30's and Ray's in his 50's )just hope they set it in the 1970's but I imagine it'll be a modern day take on the show .. I'll post a few more Sweeney shows/films if I can over the next few weeks
(Strange that one of the characters in this Episode is called David Keel .. John Steed's partner in the first series of The Avengers )

Burnside 1 Back With a Vengence

It's sad that The Bills no longer on UK screens , It would be one of the few shows where a young writer could break into television , a one off  stand alone story with regular characters which wasn't set in a fecking hospital, it's absence from the schedules may signal the death  of  a particular form of t.v drama (unless ITV have got something else planned ..but somehow I doubt it)
Here's first episode of a spinoff show from 2000 starring Christopher Ellison as Frank and Zoe Eeles.

Bill is Dead(but not forgotten)

Just felt like watching 3 hours worth Of Bill .. I wish comedians would hit the big targets again instead of picking on small ones which seems to be the thing now .. such as neo celebs and trival things like that which is bollocks to me, Bill's comedy had pathos (even if his goatboy routine may be a bit too much for some peoples tastes .. he was still making a serious point ) ,Bills thee man.. wish comedians would learn a few more things from him.

"Charley Don't Surf "Post 8-Siege at Khe Sanh

Plus the best Vietnam War movie bar none .. I added the proper end credits after the main feature as I think that they are superior to the Redux (I first saw this on TV with these credits and it blew me away-not sure why you'd omit something like that)
ahh now I know why..

Dame Diana

First time I saw Diana was when I was about 5 or 6 when they showed On Her Majestys Secret Service on the telly it was love at first sight (well for me anyhow ) but I waited and waited for Sean to turn up but he never did (been so young didn't realise this other fellow was meant to be 007).. I've also added the first part of the Avengers documentary shown here to my Honor Blackman post http://beatniksbroadcastincompany.blogspot.com/2011/04/honouring-honor.html
so if you want to watch whole thing in the correct order that's the place to start/

Jimmy.

Yet another Bank Holiday (we only had one last week..but I'm not complaining..)it's about time I screened this and featured the music from this film, I 've always wanted to see a Rockers version of these events not sure if it would be as original as this though seeing as Mod was a relativly new thing when this film was set , but would serve as another perspective.
