The beginnings of America's intervention in Vietnam, plus first film in this Vietnam season , Can't say I thought much of Platoon (I found it very overblown with it's Adiago music in comparrison to the contemporary music of Apocalyspe Now+ Flight of the Valkaries also worked perfectly but with Platoon I just didn't think it worked )and Born on the Fourth of July (Tom Cruise nuff said -not a fan) maybe I'll identify more with this film(seeing as it is about someone who comes from Vietnam)I never got around to seeing it first time around.
