Martian Spiders

The making of Hunky Dory (very important record for me first L.P I really listened to when I was nipper .. (had a profound effect on me I guess) and Bowies Spiders from Mars Period (including Jean Jeanie ..which they fail to mention is about Iggy) good to see the two surviving members of the Spiders here just wish Mick Ronson was there to also contribute to this doc (Bowie is also notably absent ) but still interesting insight into how recordings came about ...if Hunky Dorys one thing it's mysterious .

"Is There Life On Mars?"

a taster of whats to come decided to screen Life on Mars from start to finish and its follow up Ashes to Ashes plus two classic Bowie Videos(What lyrics! wonder if he used Burroughs cut up method to write them)

Games of the last Decade- 1-Return to Castle Wolfenstein

Return to Castle Wolfenstein .. man did did that bring on the fear , not so much the ghosts and zombies (piss easy) but actually been shot , far more scary , due to the games awkward controls (not putting it down .. it added to the fear ) drank my fair share of wine scoffed plenty of bread(seems to heal the wounds you see ) but yeah a proper gaming experience .. no idea what follow ups like need a newer console look forward to playing it once prices come down (you will find the games I will feature here will be ps2 as that's what I know (but I will feature a few X-Box 360 games too as my nephew swears by it lol) but yes awesome game , stories very dodgy but hey its a computer game (Nazis and the occult is a fascinating subject though but highly unlikely seeing as those SS holes had no sense of history or culture in first place)the fact that the hero of the game B.J has longest surname(its late and I can't bother to spell it lol) ever leads me to believe he's of Polish decent which is excellent revenge . Roger Avery is hopefully working on this movie we may see it by end of the year :)

The Rocketeer/King of the Rocket Men

Some proto Boba Fett Action , featuring The Rocketeer (originally a comic book check out the youtube video featuring the artist and writer Dave Stevens and another of my faves Al Williamson)Also check out the trailer of "King of the Rocketmen " which was a matinee series  which I guess inspired the whole thing .They used to show this on telly during school holidays back in late 70's  loved it!

Rick Fortune -The Dice Man

Here's a  long missed comic from the 1980's  which combined 2000ad and Gaming . Now I'm not one of those RPG game freaks or anything but did read a few Steve Jackson books and The Ninja Usurper books as a early teen , it was a craze of the time much like computer games are now , The Diceman was an interesting experiment , In many ways it took a visual medium which your used to reading in a certain way and spun it on its head each of the panels were numbered so you'd have to go the panel indicated to find out your fate. I liked the lead character of  the comic Rick Fortune a real pulp hero who threw  "the dice of destiny "either to contain or unlease demons from another dimension . One Cherished  memory is punching Himmler's lights out  so it connects up with my earlier posts . Created by Pat Mills (who wrote Charleys War,Slaine,Nemesis and Marshal Law ) it would be great to bring him back someday ..maybe even a computer game format as he was an interesting character(Like Indy the story was set in the 1930's it was like a pulp magazine mixed with Lovecraft )The Final issue(only 5 were produced featured " You are Ronald Reagan " drawn by Hunt Emerson , you can imagine what that was like lol

The Decade with No Name.

Did the last decade have a name? The Dickheads in the media have coined the phrase "The Noughties" which I think is crap I would called it the "Thousands!" but who listens to me what we call the decade we are living in now "The Tenties?" just a thought.. heres some decent music from the last decade .
